With a level of 1400 gts on the 80 hour test is it possiable to have that result from taking cold meds and cough meds for 3 days before the test. And if so is there a retest they can do to determine if its from drinking or meds.

It is quite possible to have a reading in that range and higher. (what is gts) Do you have the test results?
There are blood tests, Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) and mean corpuscular volume (MCV) are two.

I get it. They test for EtG and possibly EtS. Both figures provided are low level readings although exceeding the normal cutoff of 100 or 500. May easily result from cold medicines that usually contain about 10% alcohol.
Did you advise them that you were taking the cold medicine?
