Where do I find an ignitor for this type of furnace? We were told that the ignitor has to be replaced. The Model# is 58PAV070-12. I would greatly appreciate any assistance - we are cold!

Just go to a parts supply house that contractors use (they'll sell plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc.) with the old ignitor and they should be able to help you.

I'm guessing that you'll need a Norton or Robertshaw 41-409 (http://www.amazon.com/Robertshaw-Controls-41-409-Surface-Ignitor/dp/B001DPT0U2).

The ignitor (HSI) is about the simplest part to replace on the furnace, so if you are handy at all you can do it yourself.

First of all...TURN OFF POWER TO THE FURNACE!

The HSI should be in the general vicinity of the red arrow in the attached photo. There are two wires and a screw that attach it. Unplug the wires, loosen the screw and remove the HSI. Reverse the procedure to install.

Note that the HSI is fragile. Be extremely careful with it during handling. Don't tighten the screw too much.

Hope this helps,
