When I turn the shower in one of the bathrooms the drain gurgles. I haven't used this shower in about a year. Also, it seems there is cold air coming back up from the drain. What is causing this and how do I go about fixing it? Is it the trap? I used drano foam but it didn't seem to matter. Thanks.

The gurgle tells me that the shower's venting through the trap. Any other gurgles when you flush or drain?

it seems there is cold air coming back up from the drain. The water in the trap seal is either low or missing. Do you still feel cold air coming from the drain after you shower? Let me know, Tom

No other gurgles. Only other issue with drain is the kitchen drain. It has suds come up the other side of sink when I wash dishes. But no gurgles when I flush or use other shower/tub. I haven't took a shower in the standing shower where it gurgles because it is 53 degrees F in that bathroom. I'm not sure if it still has cold air after shower due to that. Thanks for your reply.

Also, the cold temperature in the bathroom - I have sealed the area around the pedestal sink- the piping coming from the wall, around the window and toilet area. I've also used spray foam where baseboard meets wall and floor. The heater in that bathroom is a ceiling vent it turns on through the light switch area. Can I take the shower knob off and seal that pipe as well?

After thinking about it, I have had some issues with the toilet in the bathroom getting stopped up as well. Could that have something to do with the gurgle?
