Ok so today my Facebook got hacked out of no whwere, when no oneee has my password. I recovered my account now it took a while but the person who hacked into it changed my email and took of my number to make it impossible for me to reset my password, little did they know that Facebook has other ways of recovering an account. Anyway I'm trying to locate this person by the new email address they put for my Facebook. I can trace them but only if they have sent me a mssg through email , which I don't have. But I want to know if there's other ways I can trace the email ? Or if there's a way I can find out the I.p address to that email?

Even if you can find the IP for this e-mail it doesn't get you any further than the ISP that issued the IP. From there you will need a court order to find out more.

The e-mail header does NOT contain the IP information of the person that sent it, merely the e-mail server that it was sent from.
So it's actually going to be a dead end for you.

It is not going to be accurate like what ScottGem said as it is just detecting the location of the mail server. I am using free tool from http://www.ip2location.com/free/email-tracer.
