Hi ProundMOMMy,
Unfortunately it can take some time. For many women, depo effects fertility, and often periods, for an extended period... could be even a year or more.
You may, however, be fortunate and have things return to normal within just a few months time. It is very individual.
As you wait for the return of your period, be sure to start on prenatal vitamins or a multivitamin with folic acid in it. This is important for while you are trying to conceive as well as throughout a pregnancy.
Make any other lifestyle changes you know would be healthy... this goes for your husband as well. A healthy diet can play a role in sperm health too.
Hopefully it won't take too long for you!

About 3/4 weeks. Good luck!

Incorrect. I tell my patients that this is a long term form of birth control and can take as long as 18 months for the full effect to wear off and conception to happen.
While some women do get pregnant soon after quitting depo, it is the exception and not the rule.

Hi there... I am on my 3rd shot and I am due for another in like 2 weeks... I have been having some nausea through out the day, hot flashes, constipated, bloating like every day, not able to sleep (well, I can fall asleep, but I keep waking up in he middle of the night trying to fall back asleep)... I haven't had a period since being on the shot. I was just wondering if it was normal to feel like this on the 3rd shot. I called planned parenthood and they said it is normal because of the hormones in the shot is making me feel horrible.
I was just wanting to make sure if this is right? LOL... I just haven't been through anything like this before and I think I am more scared then anything. I didn't start feeling this way until a couple weeks after getting my 3rd shot in Feb. I guess the reason I still feel bad is because the shot is still in my system, I am guessing?
Thanks you and everyone else who answers!
