And can my parents stop me from seeing him? I know the age in Alberta is 16 I'm old enough to make my own decisions but is this statgatory rape? Please help! And please don't judge me!

Of course you are not old enough to make your own choices since you are having sex with a pedophile. But the age of consent ( except for anal sex) is 16, so he can not be arrested for that. If your parents do not approve of him, there are other crimes they may try to press charges on.

*** if he is a teacher or other adult with authority over you, then the age of consent is 18.

It is statutory rape only if this person had sex with you before you turned 16 (or 18 depending on his relationship to you).

Where are you reading that at 16 you can make your own decisions? You are still under your parents control until 18. And they can tell him to stay away and if he doesn't he can be charged with parental interference.

Any 23 year old who takes up a relationship with a 15 yr old has something wrong. If he has sex with that minor then it is possible he is a pedophile.
