The blower motor of my older carrier 50K BTU unit became noisy. I removed the motor to get the part info. Normally I would mark the wire locations, but since I was just moving the control board to the side to remove the blower, I didn't mark them.
When I re-assembled the unit, I noticed that a white jumper wire had one end not connected. It must have come out when I shifted the control board. The other end is on the W terminal of the control board. Now when I call for heat, the gas valve operates and the burners fire up, but after a couple minutes when the blower kicks on, it abruptly turns off the burners and then the blower stops and the sequence starts again.
It looks like the other end of the white jumper wire was on the C terminal by its length, but I can't be sure. Any Ideas?
