View Full Version : Why is this listed under derogatory trade line?

I'm a newbie, so be kind. I recently got a copy of my credit report. I had a car loan that I paid faithfully for 4 years... except I was 30 days late on one month when I switched banks and the payment didn't go through, but I quickly fixed it. On my credit report, it's listed under derogatory trade line, which I'm assuming is a bad thing! The paid the car off with only that one slip-up and in the account notes it says the account is closed and is in good standing.

Does this have a negative affect on my credit score and if so, is there anything I can do about it?

Thank you!

Some creditors will report any payment as late if it is. I doubt if it will materially affect your credit rating.

You can request that the entry be removed.

Now why do you think we would be unkind?

ScottGem, thank you so much! I think too often I read the "comment sections" when I read articles and such. Call me Scared Sally :)
