I am 43 years old but not yet perimenapausal yet I have had my hormones checked by dr.my period in dec came one week early.it was reddish colr on tissue first day once then went away.second and third day it was pinkish color on tissue and it was so light I did not need a pad.does anybody know why this would happen if I am not perri or menapausal yet.I am confused as I really do hot know if it was a real period or just spotting.this has never happened to me before has always been very heavy though the dr told me it would be a good ten years or more before perri menapause.my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 7 years now with one miscarraige 2008.is it my body trying to tell me I am getting older and starting peri menapause ahough dr told me it would be a good ten years or more.I had no periods with my 16 year old child but maybe because I am not 43 and not 26?

Hi hassanswife68... welcome to AMHD,

Since you have been trying to become pregnant, it is possible that it is due to pregnancy. You could try a pregnancy test and see what results you get.

It very well may be the start of perimenopause... which can go on for years prior to actual menopause. The first sign many women will have is a change in their cycles. Sometimes it may be lighter bleeding, sometimes much heavier bleeding than the norm, and bleeding at irregular times.

It may also just be an off cycle and you will resume your normal period this month.
