Would you like to specify your question?
Generally fathers have the same rights and obligations as mothers have...
He may have legal and physical custody over the children. It is possible for him to have visitation, partial custody and so on...

He will get to sleep over, at least at a min of two weekends a month and one night every other week normally
BUT<> he is very likely if he wants to get them 1/2 of the time, 1/2 of the time at your house and half of the time at his house.
And it is "his" little boy also, and he has every right you have,

A father has the same rights as the mother. Depending on the circumstances it could be that he gets primary custody and YOU get the visitation.
The only difference is the father may need to go to court to formalize his rights. If he goes to court and wants overnight visits, at 30 months, it is highly likely it will be granted unless you can show a good reason not to.
Also ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.

Do you have any type of separation agreement? You need to protect yourself and your child. If the boy's father is any kind of guy he will also get things in writing. I really don't think you can stop him from having his son overnight. The only way that would happen is if the family court issues a custody agreement.
Good Luck
