This is in Texas . Is it illegal if a 16 year old boy is dating a 24 year old guy and they're having sexual intercourse but they have been together for over 6 months and the 16 year old boys parents aprrove of the relationship

This is an offense, no matter if the parents approve. You can read the law here:
http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/docs/pe/htm/pe.21.htm

The age of consent in Texas is 17.

Underage dating, and sexual intercourse is illegal, no matter which way you look at it, between a 16 year old boy and a 24 year old man parental approval withstanding. In fact I would go as far as to say, the 24 year old is a pedophile and should be reported to the authorities.

Age of consent as of 2011 is 17.

So just what are fhe parents THINKING consenting to this horrendous arrangement ?

I don't believe they are waiting for one minute.

It doesn't change the situation or the people.

They can legally date. They cannot LEGALLY have sex.

This is only my opinion but I see the 24 year old as a predator.

A 24 yr old anything involved with a 16 yr old screams pedophile!

And very possible, if the parents actually approved of this, Children's Services could get involved as a form of child neglect. So not only could the 24 year old be in trouble, the parents of the 16 year old could be in trouble also.

AND if the parents DON'T know - interference with parents' authority, criminal charge.

And who are you in this scenario? The 16 year old? The 24 year old? Or the parent?

Based on spelling and this post - I'll say the OP is a bystander, not a party to the question.

"He is saying ... and he gets mad when we tell him they are having sex."

Yes. My guess is a sibling of the sixteen year old.
