I read them when I was a freshman in high school and found them in my school's library. I figure it's a kid's or young adult series. Probably juvenile section. There's a young man who becomes a great wizard. He befriends a motley group of people, including a voluptuous green woman who might be a vampire (or a succubus) and a reptilian man from another dimension. The reptile man helps the young wizard grow into a great wizard and helps him to become rich. They have adventures. At one point the wizard is challenged to a soccer game to the death or something so they all play and of course win. The young wizard travels to the reptile man's world and his banished and refused entrance there again because he was polite and everyone there has to be rude (politeness is illegal or something) and he gains more fame by being the only person to ever have been banished from that realm. I can't remember more. Does anyone know what this series might be called?
