I just installed a new Harbor Breeze Fan & Light in my daughters home for Christmas. The problem is the remote doesn't work properly. It will not turn the fan on & off and it does not regulate the fan speed or the direction. I have gotten it to work a couple times by walking all the way around it while pushing the button I was trying to use. I do have it hooked to a wall switch as a main power source. It does not have any pull chains and it doesn't have a switch to change direction. The model # of the remote is FCCID:ZJF-HH-YK-A008
I did not change the code when I installed it so it is still on factory settings.

If the remote works intermittently the unit is likely installed correctly. I'd first try a brand new battery in the remote. If that doesn't improve the function change all dip switches (code) on receiver and remote to either all I or all O. If that fails I'd take the unit back or call Harbor Breeze for replacement receiver and remote Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fans (http://www.harborbreezeceilingfans.org/) Their warranty should cover this with little question.
