I'm trying to find the title of an older movie. Unfortunately I do not remember the actors and only part of the story. It begins in a (gold) mining colony up in the mountains (most likely the Canadian rockies... I remember British Columbia being mentioned) where workers line up to receive their payments. Suddenly masked robbers break in and start shooting killing everyone except one man. He pretends to be dead by lying on the ground. As the robbers go through to see who is still alive, he takes them out leaving him the sole survivor. He sets the place in fire and takes the gold (?) with him. He travels down the river with canoe and loses the prey at a waterfall. He then returns to his hometown (Montreal?. Here there is a reference to French Canada) to prepare a trip to retrieve the gold. His act is witnessed by 2 Indians, who knew what happened (or even helped him) who in the end want to get the prey as well. Basically the entire movie revolves around this retrieval action, how they prepare the trip and retrieve the gold ny trying to avoid those 2 indians. I also remember the closing scene as they retrieved the gold and chased away those indians, those 2 go up on high cliff looking down the river and waterfall where all that took place. That's all I know. Can you help me ?
