I know very little about pumps and could use any help available. We have a submersible pump with a bladder tank. The pump was working fine when we went to bed we took baths and the water pressure was fine. I got up the next morning and there was very little water pressure the pump was running and not cutting off. I thouoght the points (pressure switch ) was bad so I bought a new one and my husband put it on. Now the motor comes on but there is absolutely nothing coming up no air in the lines or water and the bladder tank was completely empty it had no air pressure at all so we filled it to 38psi and the pressure switch is set at 40 and still asolutely nothing. Is it possible that he wired the pressure switch wrong? He swears he did it right but we did have some water before. Please help with any suggestions. I am not sure how deep the well is but one of our neighbors went dry but I think if that was the case it wouldn't have been so sudden one night perfect water pressure and the next morning nothing at all.

we filled it to 38psi and the pressure switch is set at 40 The control box is set at what cut in point. Look on top of the box to find out. If it reads 20/40 then you've charged the bladder tank too high. The bladder tank should be charged at 2 PSI the cut in point [U]after the pump's shut off and the pressure bled off by opening a cold water faucet. In other words if the box reads 20/40 your tank should be charged at 18 PSI.
If the contacts are closed and the pump's running the control box is wired correctly.
The first thing that came to my mind is that the water table has fallen. Let me know if charging the bladder tank with the correct setting helps. Good luck, Tom
