Am looking for a movie that had samuel jackson in it. He played as the commander of a ship that was searching the black hole for a ship that was lost, and when they found it it had become evil and haunted, it was killing them one by one by attacking their fears.

Well he wasn't in event horizon according to imdb but he also did not play the commander in sphere, according to imdb he played a Dr. Harry Adams, but the rest fits.
