Landing with a speed of 94.1 m/s, and traveling due south, a jet comes to rest in 929 m. Assuming the jet slows with constant acceleration, find the magnitude and direction of its acceleration.

The acceleration is used to stop the plane, thus it is opposite to the velocity. Velocity is due south, thus acceleration is due north. For the magnitude use

2ad=v_f^2-v_i^2

where a is acceleration, d distance traveled, v_f,v_i are final and initial speed.
