I had two crowns one week ago. One was root cannaled and one was not. However, I had sever pain when the dentist was putting a crown on my teeth without root cannal. I had pain when they put the air on it and cleaning it up for prep. For my crown. Dental assistant said it is normal to feel sensitivities, but after the crown covers the spot, don't feel any pain.
Now it's been more than one week and I still feel pain when I eat and bite.
When I am not eating or biting, I don't have any pain.
Should I go back to the dentist?
By the way, they didn't do any adjustment for crowns. Weird.

I'd call and ask - I had a very similar experience which I've posted on AMHD before. It ended up that there was a "minor" infection which ended up a "major" infection because the Dentist kept telling me the pain was normal. He was wrong.
I ended up having to have surgery because the infection ate into my sinus cavity.

Your crown might be too high, if it isn't infected.
I will never have another root canal or crown.
I too got an infection and was sick for months.

You need to go back to your DDS. It could be as simple as just the crown is too high. Just an adjustment to the crown, and the pain will be gone. If that does not take care of it, then you need to again, go back to your DDS. It can be a few other things, but you need to take the first step and see if its just too high.

You HAVE to go into your DDS and just tell him/her what you just said. Since you said it only hurts when you bite or eat... thats a sign that the crown is just too high. Your DDS can adjust the crown and your pain will go away. If that does not take your pain away, there are other things it can be, but cross that bridge when or if you have to.
Good Luck!
