I'm a natural redhead. I have been dying my hair black for a very long time. I finally decided that I'd like to be a redhead again. I used the color fix color remover the other night and it didn't do much. My roots are now my natural color, but the rest is just a lighter shade of black. I'd like to just lighten it a bit so that I can re-dye it a shade closer to my natural. My hair is down to my butt, so I would really like to be able to lighten the color without having to have it cut. I was wondering if the Loreal Color Zap or Loreal Effasol Color Remover would help to remove some of the color... at least to the point of turning it a shade of brown so that I can re-dye it red. Or should I just buy a bleach packet and do the shampoo/bleach mixture?

Suggestions?:p

Permanent black hair dyes are the hardest to remove. Loreal Color Zap or Loreal Effasol Color Remover may not be able to remove it. If you want to go back close to your natural color, you must lighten your hair with bleach and then deposit the desired color. This process is really tricky to do and should only be attempted by a professional. You should consider going to a salon.

I was also wondering if effasol would work. My natural hair color is a brownish blonde. My hair is currrently dyed black and I want to go natural again. Any suggestions?
