I have NO way of entering my garage without my remote (NO side access doors, NO windows, etc.). My remote was misplaced by my son-in-law. I do not know the type of garage door opener either. How can I get into my garage and how do I learn how to replace the remote control? I greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.

Short of breaking in somehow, you can get a universal remote at Lowe's or Home depot:
Shop Chamberlain Clicker Universal Garage Door Remote at Lowes.com (http://www.lowes.com/pd_291694-38782-291694_4294858023__?productId=1081771&Ntt=garage+door+remote&pl=1¤tURL=%2Fpl_Garage%2BDoors%2BOpeners_42948580 23__s%3FNtt%3Dgarage%2Bdoor%2Bremote&facetInfo=)
Owners manual:

But you need to figure out the code, usually the dip switch method. You may need to try different combinations of switch positions to get the code right.
Otherwise, you may need to hire a carpenter to create an opening through the door or wall.
