I bought some usf warrants in 1971 or 1972 and lost them. I can`t find any info about them. Is there a place I can search.

Warrants give you the right to buy stock at a predetermined strike price, and in most cases they have a set expiration date of a few years at most. Since you're talking about warrants that are 40 years old it's virtually certain that they have expired. Also, USF was bought by Yellow Roadway Corp back in 2005 (they have since changed their name to YRC Worldwide) - at that point any value in the USF warrants would have been convereted to cash and/or stock in Yellow. I suggest that you contact YRCW's stock trtansfer agent - they should be able to help you figure out whether the warrants have any current value, or if they expired. According to their webs site the transfer agent is Computershare. Here's the contact info:
