I was convicted in a general court martial back in 1990 and given a BCD. I also served approximately 18 months in the military brig starting in Okinawa and being escorted from there to Camp Pendleton for the remainder of my sentence. I was released in Mar of 1991. Details of my case were I was convicted of theft of approximately 3 or 4 checks totaling approximately $2200 check while working in an S-1 office ( it was so long ago I don't remember much of the details). I was a 19 year old snot nosed kid. In charge of checks. I was stupid; admittedly. That was 21 years ago I've seen criminals out here shoot, mame, kill and rob with much more malicious intent and get off scott free. I did 1 1/2 years hard Marine Corp Brig time and got kicked out for my own stupidity so so much less. Its been almost going on 22yrs now, I'm assamed for what I've done but don't ever regret being a Marine. My only real screw up is not knowing how to handle myself around money at 19. At 19 yrs old I screwed myself of a career in my Beloved Corp. And lost a year and a half of my life. Heck Oliver Norton sold his country out and betrayed America; You didn't see him serve the time I did. What can I do? The most hurtful thing that happens once in a while is that I will get a letter from the Defense department reading "FYI info for veterans" like a few years back to give info that someone hacked into their computer system and that some "VETERANS" info might have been exposed. Realistically in spite of my screw up up I DID serve. Please help. A STUPID move at 19, which I have paid dearly for really screwed up my life. Is there anything I can do?
