Could anybody advise me about language settings. My cousin who lives in Italy has HP laptop, it's about 3 to 4 years old, OS is XP, the default language set to his notebook is US english, he wants it in Itanlian. He tried going through control panel-regional language-set to italian , but it didn't work. It's been long long I have not installed OS, my questions is when u install OS does it gives you any opetion what language you want to set as default? If yes and he chooses the Italian, will it be totally in italian, because he wants his computer totally be in italian, or is there any thing else he has to do to set the italian language as defalut.

Thanks

There are no such options except regional settings during a install.

If you want XP to be completely Italian, such as Menu items (i.e. File, Edit, view, etc.), help, etc. then your only choice is to install a Italian localized version.

Microsoft does make a MUI pack (Multi-language User Interface) for XP, but its not available for retail Windows see Here (http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/DrIntl/faqs/muifaq.mspx) for details.

Thanks a lot H, I'll tell him if he wants his computer completely be in Italian, then probably he'll have to buy the localized version of OS. I am not sure, but I don't think there is any big difference with the keyboard keys?

Thanks again.
