The movie is set in the 1960's or 1970's. A love story. Its title has 'SEPTEMBER' in it- I'm PRETTY sure. The woman isn't real young, & has long wavy hair. She lives in her own place- and it's BEAUTIFUL -above her bed is a sky-light window- but huge, and you can see the snow fall on it. But it'S a tragedy. Their time'S limited. She may be dying, or he's married, or some other sense of temporary joy to be followed by approaching sorrow. Anyone know of this film as Id love to see it? Saw it many moons ago and loved it.
Thanks Sooz

It could be this:
Sweet November (1968)
Starring Sandy Dennis, Anthony Newley
IMDb synopsis:
Sara Deever, a kooky Brooklyn Heights girl, sublets apartments and paints in her spare time. Each month, Sara selects a new lover but only on the condition that he will let their affair end when the month expires. When Charlie Blake, a box manufacturer and her lover-of-the-month, falls in love with her, he is unwilling to give her up. Sara insists, even though it is obvious that she, too, has fallen in love. As the month runs out, Charlie searches desperately for the key to Sara's persistence. What he discovers provides the haunting climax to this love story.

I hesitated about this because her apartment is rather eccentric and a lot of fun, but I'm not sure it qualifies as beautiful. So, I'll keep thinking of other possibilities.
EDIT: This has "September" in the title:
September Affair (1950)
IMDb synopsis:
An industrialist (Joseph Cotton) and a pianist (Joan Fontaine) meet on a trip and fall in love. Through a quirk of fate, they are reported dead in a crash though they weren't on the plane. This gives them the opportunity to live together free from their previous lives. Unfortunately, this artificial arrangement leads to greater and greater stress. Eventually the situation collapses when they come to pursue their original, individual interests without choosing a common path.
