We built a new home with a steam shower with ceramic tile. The magnetic strips on the shower door loose their magnatism when installed, but work fine when taken away from the frame. The installer replaced the magnets, but they do the same thing when installed.

Yes. The strip is bevelled so I could only reverse top to bottom. When I do that the magnet doesn't work at all when installed. The way it is, the magnetism works half-way down next to the door handle, but not on the top or bottom.

I'm having the same issue as loonlakedave above. Did you ever find a solution to this?

You can do only 2 things:
1. Clean soap residue on surface of magnets. Let dry. See if it helped
2. Replace it. Magnets get weaker with time.
Hope that helps. Milo
