Do I get in trouble if I fit NPT hose barb into a BSPT PVC pipe fittings? The pressure would be 200psi in the system. Does this consider high pressure?

Hi Albern

What size pipe are we talking about, and at what temperature range will you be operating within?

How many feet of piping and exactly what are you doing with this system?

And finally, do you mean BSP PVC? Let me know more, OK?

Hi Mark,

It would be 3/4" and 1/2" in size, it would be BSP PVC. The temperature would be around 25 - 30 Celsius. Length of the piping would be 20 feet considering most of it are fittings. It's a water drinking system with working pressure around 150-200psi

It's high pressure to me, Albern...

Check out this thread... talks about BSP vs NPT threads... appears they are NOT compatible?

Let me know what you think,OK?

Also, why are you running at 200PSI? This is a pressure that is famous for breaking diaphragms, orings and other seals, you know? Here, we usually reduce pressure to under 80PSI using a pressure reducing valve..

Back to you...
