View Full Version : I am a female, and I can't decide between the navy or the marines.

I've met with a navy recruiter and I'm meeting with a marine recruiter this week.

I want to be able to travel, to see the world, to have good job opportunities for when I'm out of the military, or make it a career.

But I also want the toughest, the best, to have that sisterhood feel, to be proud.

So I'm wondering from only people who have been in the military, either marines or navy, or who are still in it and how is it? What's your story?

Which one would be best as a career?

A lot of people tell me not to join the marines, but I know they are the toughest, and physically the toughest, and that's what I want.

What are the pro/cons about both branches?
Do you get treated like a kid the whole time you're a marine is what I hear.. Is it really as bad as people say it is?

I know a lot of people who joined the marines, and they love it. And they'res others who say it's a love hate relationship, others say it's the worst decision they made in their life to join the marines.

How is life on board a ship for months? Do you get to get off the boat if you go oeverseas?

I would like to hear from those who have been in the military or are still in only, not from people who aren't. It would be much appreciated.

You are aware that the Marines are a branch of the Navy? So by joining the Marines you will be in the Navy.
