Greetings:
I installing a programmable Hunter 44132 thermostat for my Lennox heat pump. (Note: I realize that most programmable thermostats are inadvisable for heat pumps, but this one says it will work with two-stage heat pumps and keep the auxiliary cycle from more than it should be, etc.).
My Hunter installation guide does not account for my Lennox wiring and I need some guidance.
The wall wires and corresponding connections to the OLD Lennox thermostat were as follows:
Orange … to O
Red … to R
Green … to G
Yellow … to Y1
Blue … to C
White … to W1
Light Gray … to L
Black … to E
Purple … to T
The new thermostat has the following contacts:
R
Y
G
L
O
B
A/E
Y2
C
(There is also an unlabeled white contact)
The Hunter technical helpline recommended the following, but this results in the fan not running in the Auto mode (it will run in the On position), and a flashing “AUX” signal.
Orange (old O) … to O on new t-stat
Red (old R) … to are on new t-stat
Green (old G) … to G on new t-stat
Yellow (old Y1) … to why on new t-stat
Blue (old C) … to C on new t-stat
White (old W1) … to A/E on new t-stat
Gray (old L) … capped off
Black (old E) … capped off
Purple (old T) … capped off
Thanks for any help you can give.
