I've been with my boyfriend for 10 months now. We've been unstable to be fair, from early on in the relationship. He's 24 and I'm 20. My boyfriend is a disconnected person in general because of what has happened to him in the past, and he finds it hard to trust. But with me he is never emotional or affectionate unless we are doing sexual things. We haven't had sex but recently we've done everything but sex, and it still hasn't emotionally bought us closer which I thought it would.

He's disrespectful to me and doesn't respect the person I am, as he insults the music I like, subtly what clothes I wear, the way I speak our language, disrespects my friends. He drives down to see me but whenever he does he always tried doing things in the car when we're together. EVEN the occasions I say no he forces to do things.

When I ask him why are you with me? He says he doesn't know or goes silent. Or when I ask him what he likes about me, he doesn't know what to say. I personally think he's emotionally manipulative and recently I've caught him lying to me about little things, which to me don't make sense as to why lie?

Sorry, I think all he does care about is sex, and maybe he thinks sex, and love is the same thing. Its NOT!!

The answer is simple and you are trying to "change" him and thought sex would do it. It does not,

You say he does not respect you, so you should not even be dating or hanging out with him. Most certainly not doing anything sexual with someone that shows you no respect.
In fact his wanting to use you for sex just shows more disrespect.

End it with him. He doesn't care about you, disrespects you, and he is just using you. It shouldn't be that hard to find someone that will treat you the way you should be treated.
