I was too young and irresponsible to have there credit cards. One in which I owe $2,800 is trying to out a judgement against me. I'm going to go to court and defend myself with that one. After that I want to figure out what to do with the others. I am VERY overwhelmed.

My ex used an agency called "CCCS" which helped her tremendously with a multitude of debts. There are many not-for-profit agencies who help people in your situation. It won't erase your debt nor will it help your credit at first, but it will get creditors off your back, possibly reduce or eliminate interest, and make it much less likely that you end up in a courtroom.
Try googling CCCS or just "Credit Counseling."
