I'm assuming you mean x^2 +3x -10 . You can't solve it. You need an equals sign and something on the other side.

If you want the roots of x^2+3x-10 (values for which x^2+3x-10 =0) then use the formula for II degree polynomials:
the roots of ax^2+bx+c are
\frac{-b-\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a},\qquad \frac{-b+\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

I would disagree with that advice. This website is very fortunate to have so many people who are not only good at mathematics but are also very good at explaining how problems are solved. There is no point in just getting the answer. You learn very little or nothing at all.
