Hi there,
Last night I turned on the kitchen tap and the kitchen unit suddenly shook as though I had kicked it, then all my tap water was a cloudy yellow (or light brown or green, not sure: red/green colourblind). I then ran it for a while (5 mins) and it went seemingly clear though not sure if it's back to normal. I then went and flushed the two toilets and both also made a sudden shock noise while flushing, and the upstairs tap sputtered cloudy water for about 30 seconds before settling.
Furthermore, the valve attaching the washing machine inlet to the house water pipe started leaking (found the floor wet this morning).

Please someone - what's going on? High pressure or something?

Thanks

Chris

Are you on a pump or city water? If on city water do you have a PRV/pressure reducing valve, (see image) installed where the water enters your house? Let me know, Tom

Hi there thanks. I am in a town, so city presumably. I have nothing that looks like that, only the shut-off valve (looks like there are several, at least one spare to over ride the old, worn out one). I wonder if they might do the trick?
