I was late for my cycle. It came 5 days later, but I was spotting the first day (December 3), and I started bleeding heavy on the 4th and the 5th, but on the 5th, I wasn't bleeding that heavy. My blood was brown and red. Then on the 6th, I had light red bleeding. On the 7th, it was brown and red but just a little, not a lot. On the 8th, it was just brown with no blood at all, and on the 9th, nothing.

I started taking the ovulation on the 9th, but on that day it said I was ovulating. Just want to know why did I ovulate so early after bleeding for only two days. I'm trying to get pregnant, but everything is throwing me off. I can't have sex every day like most people because I'm a lesbian, and we have a sperm donor, so I try to do it around the time I think I'm going to ovulate.

The other thing is we are doing it by ourselves because we don't have money to do it the other way. We got someone who was willing to help us. My cycle is changing on me, so I just want to know that about my ovulation, and what else can I do for it to work. I write everything down and I'm doing everything I can. The thing that I have read on to try to get pregnant, but it just seems like it's not working, so can you give me some advice?

Last month I ovulated on the 13th and this month on the 9thv. I really don't know when my next cycle going to start or when will I ovulate, so I really need some help. Could the ovulation test be positive if I could be pregnant?

Hi Shelly,
I've been trying to get pregnant too for a while now (I have twice in the past 2 years but miscarried) and the best indicator for me is a transparent (egg white like) mucus which is pretty stretchy too. This mucus appears when you are starting to ovulate - I got pregnant both times having sex on the day after this mucus appeared (I think I ovulate around the 11th day). You need to drinks lots of water after your period to encourage more mucus to form. If you don't notice this then you can buy a ovulator kit at your chemist.
I wish you real good luck and lots of baby dust x

I suggest the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It explains fertile cervical mucus, OPKs and other things that will help you determine your most fertile days.
