My boyfriend and I have been Trying to conceive for over a year. I was supposed to start my period on Dec. 4th, and when it didn't show up, I was very excited. I took a home pregnancy test on Dec. 6th and it came out negative. I took another on Dec. 8th with another negative result. Disappointed, I scheduled an appointment with my doctor and had my blood drawn.

They said the result was positive! My hCG level was at 12. I took another home pregnancy test on Dec. 9th and got a positive result. I had my blood drawn today (Dec. 10th) and was told my hCG level was now at 24.

Doesn't 24 seem very low? I expected it to be higher. If it's normal, how far along would I be? I did some Internet searching that, based on my last period, puts me at 4 weeks pregnant. But 4 weeks with an hCG of 24? I was on my first cycle of Clomid when I missed my period. Can Clomid mix up your hCG levels?

I'm really worried something is wrong. I have had a miscarriage in the past (about 5 years ago, before I knew anything about hCG levels!) and I am praying this doesn't happen again.

Any advice from anyone? Thanks!

Ok just try to keep calm and don't stress because that can cause problems. For one CONGRATS! Anyway if your doctor or nurse didn't seem concerned than you shouldn't be either. Everyone's bodies are very different. Just like if you read on the boxes of pregnancy test and it says it can ready so and so much hcg levels thans a lot of people are going to go based on that one number. Well some can get a positive within 2-4 weeks. Other it might take until between 5-10 weeks with the same test to get a positive result. I didn't get a positive until I was 18 weeks with my first but I got a positive at 5 weeks with my second. So Im pretty sure that everything is fine but if you need reassurance than just call and talk to a nurse:)
