I signed custody of my four year old son over a year ago. My attorny said I owed him more money that I could not afford and refused to appear in court with me. So my ex-boyfriend manipulated me into signing him over as primary caregiver. I was never proven unfit we never appeared in court it is considered joint custody with the father as primary caregiver but we have equal rights. Sometimes I end up with our son more than what it says in the custody papers but at other times just to hurt me my ex will not let me have him for special occasions or my days off just to spite me. Also before I signed custody to my ex husband I was with a man with a criminal past who I have been away from for over 2 years I am now married with a stable home and stable job. Can I get my son back that is all I want? The child would not be taken out of his environment he has been here mostly all along he mostly done it to show power and not pay child support.

Go to Court and ask for custody.

If the circumstances that dissenting turn over custody have changed tenuous go back to court for a modification.

If the circumstances that caused you to turn over custody have changed then you go back to court for a modification.

Im a bit confused. You mention both an ex boyfriend and an ex husband. But it seems your question is geared around one child. Also did your lawyer formally withdraw from your case or was it something else?

Ex boyfriend and father of the child. No the lawyer didn't withdraw he refused to show in court because I did not pay him off because he raised his price every other week.

If you had a retainer agreement it is against Bar Association rules to raise the hourly rates. An Attorney also often has to formally withdraw from a case. Depending on the status of the case at that particular time.
He raised his rates and didn't show up?
