My friend and I were trying to find the name of this movie a saw years ago, its about a car company founder. Its maybe 10 years old or so, not sure. At the beginning he is trying to sell bicycles I think and this guys car breaks down in front of his shop and he fixes it and gets into cars. I want to say its in the 1920s or so, maybe about chrysler.

Sounds like it could possibly be Tucker: The Man and His Dream (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096316/).

No that's not it, I just looked at that movie and it seems similar, I even thought that the movie I am thinking of has Jeff Bridges, but the beginning of that movie doesn't have him fixing a guys car, maybe it's a similar actor to Jeff Bridges. From what I can remember the movie I am thinking of has him as a bicycle salesman or something like that, and a guys car breaks down in front of his shop and he says he can fix it when he has never messed with engines before, it shows him figuring out how it works with the engine torn apart in his shop and he puts it back together and gets it running and starts his own shop.

Quinn has more than earned his title of movie expert. I have been greatly impressed by his ability to pinpoint movies with only the vaguest of descriptions.
