My suv does not have an entry key lock on the passenger door , why?

Cost cutting? Can't be for convience.

This door was like this when I brought it,from a auction do they sell cars with one lock

My 2000 Ford Taurus only has a key lock on the driver's side.

A second lock would be good for redundancy. Your 1 lock breaking would be good for locksmiths like myself for lockouts?
