I had my tubes tied may 10 2010.I had my period this month but it only lasted 2 days, which is not norma, and I've been getting these flutters in my lowewr abdomen.so I decided to take a pregnancy test just to see.I bought a box of 2 ept digital readout tests and the first was negative.well about 4 days later I felt the flutters again so I took the other test from the same box is said "pregnant".I went within a couple hours to clinic and had blood test done which was negative and I took like 4 more home tests which were also negative.I'm wondering is it likely it was a false positive or after having tubes tied for almost 2 years I could actually be pregnant again and its just not showing up on the tests?I was confused because even the lab tech said"it's unlikely to get a false positive so if you got one at home then I'm sure it'll be positive here"then it came back negative and he said I probably misread the test.noooo,it clearly said "pregnant".I'm so confused and freaking out!

In most cases a false positive comes about in just a few ways:
* a person may have been taking certain fertility medications (most often to achieve pregnancy, but not always)
* the test itself happens to be faulty
* the test was used incorrectly... usually in regard to the time the result was read
* a person was pregnant but had a very, very early loss without knowing it... not a false positive, but it would account for some positives that later become negative in a short period.
Usually, fluttering is associated with baby movement which isn't usually felt until several weeks into a pregnancy, at best. For most women it would be about 3-5 months before they feel anything. It would be very unusual for you to be that far into a pregnancy and not have it show on a test.
See what happens when your next period is due... if it is off again, or doesn't show at all, try another test at that time.
