I was accused of larceny and there is a warrant for my arrest. I just found out what client filed the report and he is willing to drop charges. He basically filed a report because once I closed my business he thought I ran away with his money which its not true. I just got in a very bad financial situation. So he agree to drop charges but I don't know what the process is. How to explain that so he doesn't get in trouble for filing a false report. I have not been to court yet since my first hearing notice was sent to a former address.

Thanks guys for your answers.

You hire a lawyer, and you do what he says. If your friend BELIEVED what he said to the cops, he's not in trouble.

Have your friend go see the DA and explain what happened and he would like to drop the charges against you. He won't get into trouble.

Agree, your friend can go see the DA, but you may have to turn yourself in, have a hearing and produce your evidence to show you did not take the money.
