10*2*3/10*2

10 x 2 = 20
20 x 3 = 60 (thats one side done)
(then you solve the other side)
10 x 2 = 20
the / means divied so you do
60/20 = 3

Berrybeck, your explanation was nice, but unfortunately that's wrong!

Order of operations dictates that in the absence of parentheses, multiplication and division take place in order from left to right. Neither takes precedence over the other. You did all of the multiplication before the division; that's incorrect. The expression you simplified was this one: 10*2*3/(10*2).

The correct answer is

10*2*3/10*2 = 20*3/10*2 = 60/10*2 = 6*2 = 12
