Okay, well there is this girl I have liked for over a year now, she is 13 and I am 16. I have finally just asked her out and she said yes, but I am getting a lot of crap from people in school, which confuses me because seniors date freshman but and eighth grader can't date a junior? It is the same concept she just is not in high school yet. She has a good maturity level along with myself, and yes her parents and my parents do know about this, in fact they liked the idea, I know most of you would freak out, but that is because your are not chill parents who actually know what your kids are doing, or care to talk to them about it. Anyway what do you guys think about this because people are bothering me about it?

Why on earth would you lay down a blanket statement like that, condemning the parents here? (sounds like your friends aren't very "chill" with this either) -- and then say in your final breath that something is bothersome about a guy of 16 wanting to date a girl of 13?
Perhaps you should listen to your gut -- and ask your friends why they aren't chill.

The problem here is that teens develop at different rates and even a year can make a vast difference. The difference between a 13 and 14 yr old can be vast. As we get older those difference go away, but until one becomes an adult those differences matter greatly.
In my opinion 13 is too young to date one on one. But if her parents are aware and approve, they know her better than we do.
Of course, ANY sexual activity can land you in jail. And this is one of the reasons other people are bothered by this.

And how old are you? People come here to ask questions because they are unsure about what is best for them to do. Often because they don't have the knowledge and experience themselves to make a good judgment. A 16 yr old may not have the experience to make decisions like this one on their own. How are they going to learn if they don't listen to others?
So your advice would be to possibly screw up their life and someone else's because it's their life?
