Okay. Helpful answers only please.. I got caught last year taking something from wal mart like an idiot and now I'm on my 2nd mo. Of probation. I used my title 14 so after this ill have a clean record again. Now Im not much of a drug user but the other day I was drinking which is also rare for me and smoked a little bit of weed. I might get tested in a week and I just might fail it. I'm curious what will happen if I do. I live in Tn. Im 23 and an honorably discharged vet of the Marines. Im not making excuses but since I've been out things just keep getting worse and worse. Family dying. Etc etc you've heard it all before. Thanks in advance.

We try not to give answers which are not helpful.
At any rate - if you violate you could be sentenced to whatever you would have received had you not received probation. You also could get an additional charge for violating probation.
Of course, you could have a record. You might stay on probation PLUS have a record.
Depends on the Judge and the legal "climate" in your area.
How much do you use - you say you're "not much of a drug user." What is involved?

If you fail it, most likely, you will lose your program not to have a record after it is over. They would violate your probation and you would have a hearing before the judge.
It is completely up to him, my guess he will just put you back on probation.

It varies. Thanks for your answers. All my friends are potheads so I've just been kind of lonely and working all the time to keep my mind off everything. Prior to this all I ever did consistently was smoke. Then once I got myself into trouble I quit smoking and now I drink to curb the cravings (3 drinks twice a week average probably). For the past 2 mo.s I haven't smoked at all except for the once. But that's all it takes.

Yes, that's all it takes. And if it does show I'd rely less on why and more on "I'm sorry."

All my friends are potheads too. That doesn't mean you need to violate your probation. Especially when all you've got is a piddly, (what?) 6 months probation for SHOPLIFTING?? Dude. You don't sound like a marine. You sound like a whiner.. I'm a lousy sailor, and I stopped smoking pot for 3 years. Can't a marine do that?
