My ten yr old son has had 2 blood tests both said he had raised liver enzymes should I worry

It all depends on a number of factors. Quite a number in fact. If you don't mind answering a few questions I might be able to help... a little.

May I ask why the blood tests were taken?

Does he take any medication?

Did he have jaundice as a newborn?

Anyone in your family have any form of Hepatitis?

The blood test was taken as he went for a routine dental appointment and dentist said it was a vitamin defficancy when we took him to the docs he had lost a stone in weight and has very loose stools that was tested and was normal he takes no medication I had a bad pregnancy due to bleeding and was given steroid injections as I went into labour he stopped growing at 30 week pregnant and was induced 2 week before he was due also his behaviour is bad at the moment no one has hepattitis

Apparently you are in a different country than I am, we don't do blood work for dentistry here. We measure our weight in pounds while you measure in stone.

Has he always had loose stools or is this something new to him?

What is his diet like?

This is new to him and it wasn't the dentist who performed the blood tests it was the doctors he is also mixed race white and aisan he doesn't eat so great sometimes he just can't eat he is seeing a pedeatrition nxt week

What was the reason the doctor performed the blood test?

Just routine to check for vitamin deficiancy and anemia although the first blood test said raised liver enzymes and calcium was low the second blood test the calcium level was normal the liver came back with the same results also due to the weight loss which he had lost a stone in a very short time

Corrina, there are different levels in the blood tests. They have a range from high to low. These ranges can vary for a number of reasons. There is also something called a critical high or a critical low. If the doctor is not concerned at this point, you shouldn't be either.

Since he is seeing a pediatrician next week, the best thing you can do is to make a list of your questions to take to the pediatrician where they can be addressed better than we can here on the internet.
