I came here on 2 oct 2001, I have been in u.s.a for more than 10 years.
I am british citizen, came here on visa waiver
Was going to go back, to u.k, but fell ill and was hospitalized and stayed here ever since.

I have done nothing wrong, apart from this, have no criminal record.

I want to start work, get a job.

I want to get legal, but all the attorneys told me to marry a u.s citizen.

Is there another way, like can an employer sponsor me if I get hired , to get my papers and ssn ?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Not sure what type of attorney told you to marry a US citizen but that does not get you anything but married, you still have to apply for the correct visas.

Next how serious ill were you ? How long were you that ill that you could not contact your embassy or contact immigration.

Why did you not attempt to get correct visas after you were well enough to write, use the phone and so on.

I will assume you have not contacted a immigration attorney, that is what you need to do.

I have consulted with several immigration attorneys over the years, and all said the easiest way was to marry a u.s citizen.

I was admitted, in the pyschatric hospital for bipolar, and have been in and out of hospital every 2 years.

Now I am well enough, and mature enough, to look for work.

Any suggestions appreicated.

Can employer sponsor me ?
Is there any solution to my dilemma ?

Thank you.
