Dr. Bill, I know I'm beating this question over & over, but want to rest my mind a little. I had a random ETG alcohol test yesterday ( Thur 12-01-11 @ 3pm) the last drink was consumed Sunday 11-27-11 @ 2 am ( beer ) I figured it was close to 109 hours of no alcohol, but here's the main question.. I consumed 8 beers each evening prior to that. Saturday was 8 and 8 each night starting on wed night before thanksgiving... I'm a fairly active average male around 190lbs... I believe I process alcohol rather quick, as I do have an Ignition Interlock and can drink 6-7 the night before and blow a pass 12 hours later.
Thanks,
Robert

Red,
You left out how many beers on Sunday.
Also please provide time for first drink as well as last drink on Sunday.
Your metabolism is about average based on 8 beers metabolized in less than 12 hours... or that isn't unusual.

I went out Saturday evening and had my first beer at 8pm with a large hamburger & fries and drank until last call which was around 1:45 am, Sunday morning. I was not blacked out or anything ,just a little buzzed.

Based on amount consumed daily for 3 days and the time interval from last drink, you should pass an EtG test even using the maximum clearance times (ave. 65-78, range 20-102)* Some studies show a much shorter detection period (Wurst, 2002 (http://dionysus.psych.wisc.edu/lit/Topics/Hangover/WurstF2002b.pdf)) but I prefer to provide a worst case estimate.
*These clearance times are based on BAC ranges as opposed to number of drinks. I simply started with 8 drinks for the Sat-Sun session.
How long have you been subjected to EtG testing and what BAC trips your ignition interlock?

Thank you very much, I feel a lot better, this is my first random EtG test, I have never fail with the interlock, so I'm not sure what its set at. So just to double, 4 nights in a row of drinking 8 beers and with the time I stopped Saturday night, I should be good. Over 100 hours. Thanks again for your time and response, its much appreciated!

Red,
Don't push your luck with EtG testing. It is a very erratic and unreliable system regardless of the lab or product. The figures that I rely on are derived from very small research groups... because that is all that is available from the research literature. This test isn't something that can be timed to the minute or hour. That's the reason I use the longest times in my responses.
Would also like to hear back when you get the results.

I understand,I am going to stop drinking completely now, its just not worth the worry. I do understand that there are variables and each person is different.
