Hi jessica2032,

I know six months seems like a long time, but when trying to conceive, it is not unusual. Since you are having regular periods, you are likely ovulating each cycle. It can happen that your aren't, but it is generally assumed that you are unless determined otherwise.

Have you tried using ovulation tests? Or temping/charting to get a better idea of when ovulation may be occurring? With three little ones, are you able to have sex on a pretty regular basis... ideally about every other day?

The slightly early period may be a one off, so see what happens with next month. Rule of thumb is that you will ovulate about 12-16 days before the next period is due. It can be wise to add a few days prior to this and a few days after as many women do not ovulate within the norm. Again, it is just a starting place and you may find that you ovulate outside the average range.

At this stage, there is no reason to believe that you won't become pregnant within the first year, as most couples do. It can, however, sometimes take even a bit longer, and that can still be perfectly normal.
