I have always had the feeling of my face being excessively hot. In the summer when I am out playing golf (in a cart), my face will flush and I can look as if I am going to have a heat stroke. However, when it is winter and everyone else seems fine, my face is hot feeling and sometimes I sweat in my face but, sometimes I do not. My blood pressure is normal to a little below normal. I am hypothyroid, on a very small dose of estrogen, am past menopause, am allergic to many environmental things and numerous antibiotics (penicillin, macrobid, cephalosporins, and phenothylines). What is going on with me? This is very uncomfortable, especially when everyone else at work is cold and the thermostat is turned up - all I want to do is turn it down. In the car, even in the winter, I turn the air conditioner on my face to cool me down. I almost never wear a coat or a sweater because they make me even hotter. Any suggestions?

Even though you say you are passed the menopause, hot flushes ,night sweats and a general feeling of either being to hot or cold can go on for some time... A herbal remedy is very good called: Black Cohosh.Taken for a period to enable it to have effect... CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR FIRST.

You also mention thyroid:this controls body temperature and various other things: central nervous system etc... The thyroid secretes certain hormones to regulate things within the body ,one of which is body temperature. You say that you are already on a small does of estrogen, maybe the dose for you is not sufficient to keep things in check anymore and needs to be adjusted.

My advice would be to go back to your doctor, tell him exactly what you have told me.He can then look into it further and adjust any medication that may be necessary to correct this problem.
