Hi there, I put a deep red colour on my hair back in July and haven't liked it at all. So I went to the hair dressers and said that I wanted to go back to my "old hair colour" which was very dark brown naturally, but would like some blonde through it. I did not want to be any sort of ginger/orange or copper colours. Well, guess what! After paying £77 and 4 hours in the salon. I am a mixture of red, orange and creamy blone! I went back to the hairdressers the next day and said I didn't like it and she said that my hair colour is "work in progress" and that she wouldn't put any more blonde in it so will have to blow dry my hair differently! Obviously I am not happy with the result so has anyone got any ideas on how to make the orange colour more blonde from buying from the shops and doing it myself? I can't afford for another hairdresser to do it! Thanks very much.

Going from red back to brown is a task in itself (its almost near impossible to rid that red tinge).. let alone adding blonde highlights/foils through it... when you coloured your hair red, you added stacks of pigment to your hair.. for example.. if you were blonde trying to go dark.. you would need a red pigment first for the dark to hold onto the blonde... vice versa.. you could either strip your hair (not recommended) or like your hairdresser said.. it a work in progress, so playing the waiting game would be what you would have to do... but these guys are trained professionals but not miracle workers.. sorry sweets but going from one extreme to another will cause you this type of grief.. my only suggestion from previous experience... colour your hair black.. wait 3-4 weeks and add blonde highlights/foils... the longer you wait in between colour/highlights/foils the better the outcome and lesser chance of ruining your hair.. good luck :)
