Fr, thank you for your input. I get the pins and needles in my arms and extemeties and I get amped up when I don't take the Alprazolam. For example, I took a .25 pill around 10pm last night, went to bed around 1am, was wide awake at 5, with some depressive/compulsive thoughts of financial worries. But, that seems normal, in that I am strapped for money. And "Amped" up is part of life, I am sure. I was diagnosed with a PTSD type of anxiety disorder which is why I have been taking alprazolam for so long. I am prescribed it. But, I need to get a new job and I am afraid the aprazolam will show up in a drug test. I'd like to get off alprazolam either way and only use something when I actually get the anxiety/panic attacks, rather than all the time. I believe that some of my initial diagnosis of anxiety attacks may have been partially "hypoglycemic" related as when I eat well, I feel much more comfortable.

Have you heard of an easy way out of this? I was toying with diazapam, as I read you can taper off with it?

Also, I read a website of a local doctor in my area that uses Suboxon, or something like that to get you off opiates, but he listed other drugs, like oxycontin and heroin, but no listing of Alprazolam I guess I'l call him when he opens up. Do you know much about Suboxon?

There is not always one good program for any one person, Have you discussed this with your doctor.

I am assuming this is a legal drug and you are taking it though your doctor, If so, it will not matter that it shows up, since you are legally taking it.

Yes, it is prescribed. So, I should not worry about it showing up? No kidding. Well that's pretty cool. Probably better that my new employer doesn't know my medical history though. They may not want to hire someone with a ptsd anxiety issue.
