I have a lump inside my ear lobe. I felt my ear one day and noticed it, I squeezed it and it hurt a little and then forgot about it for a week. I then came to realize it again but it had gotten bigger and I tried squeezing it cause I thought it might be a pimple but it just got swollen and turned purple. It hurts even worse and I don't know what to do about it. I want to try poking it with a needle but I don't want to infect it even more... can someone tell me what it is?

It sounds like a cyst.

It's a zit. That area of the body usually doesn't get them but when your earlobe does it does exactly what you are describing. It is also very hard to pop as well since it is in the earlobe. You can use a hot cloth to bring it to the surface and then try popping it or leave it alone and it will dry up and go away after a few weeks.

How can you be positive it's a "zit"?

I don't like to use Wikipedia as a reference... but here goes: Sebaceous cyst - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebaceous_cyst)
